Collaboration between communities is one of the great benefits of the 5 Healthy Towns Project. People and organizations who haven’t interacted before are working together to provide wellness activities to their communities. By sharing ideas and resources, our 5 Healthy Towns are able to implement interventions that might be untenable otherwise.

The list of interventions common among communities includes SRSLY, Fitness for Life (5HF sponsored), the Big Red Barrel Program, Safe Routes to School and the Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative. These interventions are featured parts of two or more of the 5H Communities.

In addition, the local Farmers Markets in Chelsea, Dexter, Grass Lake, Manchester and Stockbridge come together to host the annual Farm to Table Dinner that benefits Chelsea Farmers Market, Dexter Winter Marketplace, Grass Lake Farmers Market, Manchester Farmers Market, and Open Air Market of Stockbridge.
