Ballet Chelsea, in collaboration with St. Louis Center, Chelsea School District, Chelsea Senior Center, WISD, Silver Maples, Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, and Chelsea Retirement Community, puts moving more to music as it creates opportunities for individuals with physical or cognitive challenges.

St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea sponsors an annual community running and biking event featuring 2 mile, 5K, 10K and 13.8 mile course options. MonkeyPlay (new)
Mimicking animal behavior through imaginative play helps children improve locomotion skills and body strength development. The curriculum includes nutritional coaching and a variety of physical activity games and approaches for young children at Chelsea Schools.

Storybook Trail at Baker Preserve (new) –
Chelsea District Library will install a storybook trail, comprised of posts and stations along the Baker Preserve Trail that allow walkers to read an entire book from the trail’s start to finish. Books can be updated and the frames provide protection from the weather. The library with partner with Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation to install the storybook stations.

Chelsea Co-op Preschool Play Structure (new)
In cooperation with St. Paul’s Church, this intervention will expand and update the outside play area for preschool, church, and community youth. In addition to move more opportunities, the instillation of a garden space through church support will allow for eat better opportunities and further healthy connections.

Teen meditation and yoga (new)
Chelsea Wellness Center will offer free teen meditation and yoga classes to eight or more local high schoolers over 10 week sessions. Sessions will support connecting with others and positive mental health.
